Last December while scrolling through one of Zulily’s sales, I had the idea to do something with six different colored rain boots using my kids, nieces and nephews (on my side of the family). The primary benefit of living out in the country is that we have a lot of wide open space to run around —and, it’s especially beautiful in the spring when the wildflowers come up and the grass reemerges bright green. So for this session, I just wanted to get the kiddos out in the flowers and utilize the light to our advantage. We were also able to venture down on the road as the sun started to set for a few close ups of the boots as well.
As most everyone in my family is used to seeing me with a camera in my hand, I didn’t get their undivided attention for long; nonetheless, I think I was able to capture what I envisioned. Little smiling faces, bright colors and happy memories. They are literally growing like weeds! I’m not sure how many years I’ll get away with orchestrating these styled shoots so I’ll try and sneak in as many as I can. Please enjoy 🙂
