It has been a little more than a year since I was able to capture big sister Sloane’s cake smash out by her grandparent’s river house in New Braunfels. And, look how much she’s changed!

Now, it was baby sister, Baylor’s turn. (How can she already be one?!? I feel like I just took her newborn photos!!) These girls are so precious and part of one of my favorite families to work with so I always know we will get some great shots.

The funny thing was that last year, Miss Sloane wanted nothing to do with her cake. In all my experience photographing cake smash sessions, babies either love the cake or they hate it. And, Sloane hated it! She didn’t want to get dirty and really didn’t even want to touch it. Well…fast forward to this year and Miss Baylor decided she didn’t like cake all that much either. But to our surprise, Sloane (now very camera-shy), decided that she wanted to take advantage of eating the perfectly good cake Baylor was wasting.

The following images are a sampling of what we captured. We still got some adorable images of Baylor in her adorable little dress and we even snuck some in of Miss Sloane while she was occupied with the cake.

I kind of love that both sisters share their experience of disliking the cake. Now we’ll have two pictures as precious memories to compare as they get older. Here was Sloane just last year 🙂
