This was a fun one! I met the Benavides family at Landa Park one sunny evening to take their first family pictures in more than eight years. We had great time walking around to find pockets of light where the sun started to set behind the trees. Although it’s crowded most of the time, there are many spots in Landa Park that you can find away from groups of people. For it being a mostly overcast day, we had great luck finding the light. This was my first time working with the Benavides crew and they were so sweet and relaxed during the whole session. I found myself telling them again and again that they were making my job way too easy! Scroll down to see a sampling from our session.

Callum’s Cake Smash
I love cake smash sessions! I met the Gault family last week to celebrate Callum turning one. We snuck in a few family shots and then went straight for the cake. In my experience, kids usually LOVE the cake or they absolutely HATE it. Callum definitely loved it!
Classen Family
Sometimes you have a family that you just connect with instantly. I knew right away after meeting the extended Classen family at their families’ ranch in New Braunfels that their group would be a blast to work with. Big group family sessions are often hectic because when you get that many people together (especially with young kids), it’s hard to maintain focus and still get natural looking smiles. This was not the case with the Classens! I truly had a great time working with the whole family. We walked around on their beautiful property and were even blessed with a few moments of sun after a mostly overcast and rainy day. Scroll down to see a sampling of the images we captured.
Spradlin Family
Thanks to my regular trips up to East Texas, I’ve had the pleasure of photographing the Spradlin girls for several years. It shouldn’t be such a surprise to me to see how much they’ve grown because they are nearly exactly the same age as my two kiddos! But nonetheless, it still surprises me to see the kids I’ve photographed change and grow over the years. This time was a little different because we actually had the whole family together! Always fun to work with, I had a great time walking around with the four of them and finding spots with pretty light around Synergy Park in Kilgore, Texas. Granted, the girls were freezing, but we made it work and it really was a lot of fun. Scroll down to see more.
Juliann Maternity
Juliann looked absolutely stunning in all of her maternity pictures. Spring sunset sessions can be so unpredictable. For weeks, we were looking for the perfect location with wildflowers; however, they just weren’t blooming enough when it was time for her session. I wasn’t sure if the weather would cooperate for us when we decided to take the photos at a secluded spot at the back of our property–but, it turned out to be a truly picturesque day. We had an absolutely immaculate sunset and no wind!
Rease is 4!
I was able to spend some time with this sweet little girl recently to capture some portraits commemorating her fourth birthday. Individual portrait sessions are often one of my favorite things—especially with younger kids.
Cooper Turns One
I challenge you to find something more adorable than this little man in blue overalls with eyes to match! Cooper’s one year session was so great. He did wonderful with several different outfit changes–including the A&M jersey and football. Seriously, he’s too cute for words! Scroll down to see more.
2017 Year at a Glance
I can’t begin to express the gratitude I feel for having the ability to photograph amazing families, couples and individuals near my hometown. This was a busy year! From lifestyle newborn sessions to high school and college seniors, maternity sessions, anniversaries, weddings and beyond, I was able to work with hundreds of individuals across all ages.
Jordan is 1!
I’ve been able to work with the best families! I was fortunate to work with Kayla for her maternity photos and now, Jordan is already turning one. He did so great for our session together. I rarely get such direct eye contact from the little ones under two. And, let’s talk about those eyes! Such a dreamy blue color. Scroll down to see some more of the adorable shots we captured.
Stanush Family
I had the pleasure of working with Kelsey a few years back to capture images to celebrate her graduation from college. This year, she asked if I could work with the whole family while they were together for the holidays. We met at one of my favorite spots after Thanksgiving for a quick walk around the park and we even managed to sneak a few smirks out of Mr. Stanush! So much fun. Scroll down to see more 🙂
McGowin Family
Super sweet, down-to-earth and fun to work with. The McGowins are all of these things and more! Truly, they make my job easy and I enjoy my time with them each photo session we have together. Take a look by scrolling down to see some of our recent images captured near Market Square in downtown, San Antonio. I’m loving the saturated colors and texture we were able to find.
Jonas Family
Everything about the Jonas’ family session worked so perfectly! With toddler age kids, you just never know if we’ll be able to keep their attention and get genuine laughter and smiles. We were blessed with an abundance of them this time thanks to the hard work of Hayden’s grandma. She was amazing at hiding behind me and jumping out just at the right time. Those of you with kids, know we’ll do what it takes to get those natural expressions of true joy. Scroll down to see a sampling of what we captured. Definitely one of my favorites from this fall!
Juliann & Kenny’s Surprise
This was a lot of fun. Juliann contacted me a while back to schedule a family photo session as a present to her mom. As we got closer to the date, she also found out that she was expecting! As a way to capture some of the excitement and love this family shares, we devised a plan for Kenny and Juliann to announce the pregnancy towards the end of the evening.
Parker Newborn
This lifestyle newborn session was perfect! I’m so grateful that I have wonderful families who welcome me into their homes to document such special milestones. Time is such a precious thing and it passes so quickly. Lifestyle sessions are a great way to look back and see how the nursery was decorated or to remember a special memory at your home. Scroll down below to see a sampling from my time with baby Parker and family. Big brother Easton did amazing as well. His little smile just melts my heart 🙂
Lindsey Family
I’m loving these shots of the Lindsey family. As with most families living with an active toddler, we were reminded that they rule to show when it comes to family photo sessions. Miss Maisyn kept us on our toes this time, but candy and simple bribes won out in the end! We even captured a few unposed moments with laughter and hugs. And when all else fails, we go to the swings! Scroll down to see a sampling from their session this fall 🙂
Jackson 6 Months
My goodness…I can’t handle how cute Jackson was for his six month photo session last weekend. We met at the always beautiful San Antonio Botanical Garden and I really think this age range is becoming one of my favorites! At this age, babies can usually hold themselves up or even sit. They are also much more attentive and smiley–creating endless possibilities to capture their developing personalities. Jackson was a rockstar! Not only were his little outfits completely adorable, but he also did great and connecting with me and giving direct eye contact to the camera. Scroll down to see a sampling from our session.
Leonard Maternity
I love the images we got from this session! Furthermore, I love the evolution of smiles from the handsome Mr. Luke during our time together. From the uncertain expression on Luke’s face on the first image to the very last one in this set, this is a great example of how it is possible to take family pictures, maternity photos and portraits of an active almost 2-year old in a short time frame. Nearing sunset, I met the Leonard family in La Vernia to document the growing family. It was a group effort, but we were able to let Luke run and explore while I snuck in a few maternity photos of Jacquelyn. He wouldn’t sit for us for the family photos, but through the creative use of the ‘dinosaur trees’ and playing in the dirt, we were rewarded with some precious and genuine smiles. Scroll down to see a sampling from our session.
Dugosh / Geiger family
This was my second session with this sweet family. We met in Gruene on a sunny Saturday morning to capture a few family images and some of the adorable Mr. Maker. He was much more mobile this time around so we just let him roam and play. Not only were we lucky to coax a handful of genuine smiles from him, but we also found some silly faces along the way. This age range is such a joy to photograph!
Olowo Twins
I had the pleasure of photographing the Olowo family to celebrate the twins, Valeri and Valentina, reaching three months. We met at Synergy Park in Kilgore, Texas and had some amazing light to capture the sparkle the their beautiful little eyes. It was so hard to pick the best images out of this gallery! As you can imagine, with three little girls, we had a lot of movement and action shots. But, we came away with some precious smiles and memories to last a lifetime. Big sister, Victoria, did great as well! Scroll down to see a sampling from our session.
Latham Family
Warning: these photos are dripping with cuteness and sunshine! It was pretty hard to pick out just a few favorites from the Latham’s family session. We had such a great time walking around being silly while the kids played — and it resulted in some precious little moments. Take a look by scrolling down to see a sample of what we captured.
