It’s been a while since I’ve been able to work with the Tollackson family and I’ve missed them! Levi was still a baby back then –but now he’s waiting on the arrival of his new brother or sister (it will be a surprise!). For this session (during our new COVID era), I met the Tollacksons out at their property so we could still practice proper social distancing.

Kayla Maternity
Something about a beautiful sunset and maternity photos goes SOOO well together—don’t you agree?!? Kayla and Andrew met me out in La Vernia on our family’s property for a perfect October evening to take her maternity photos. We had little wind, gorgeous light and no mosquitoes (so I’d say it was near perfect)! Kayla was ever the glowing mom-to-be and her floral dress was just right against the backdrop of the greenery as the sun set through the leaves.

A sunset maternity session on gorgeous land with a ton of baby calves running around…yes, please! I had the best time driving around and chasing the sunset with Cat and Tommy during her maternity session. Scroll down below to see some of our favorites from the session.
Stefany Maternity
I had a wonderful time working with Stefany and Quinton for the first time this spring. We met at the Brakenridge Park in San Antonio one evening just before sunset. I’ve never photographed there before, so we just spent some time walking around and exploring the area. I loved the access to the water and some of the dreamy light we found along the walking paths (not to mention some of the cute ducks waddling in front of us)!
Piper Maternity
Piper and James met me in La Vernia on a clear Sunday evening so we could drive out into the field searching for that gorgeous light seeping through the trees. Three things were clear right at the start. 1) Piper looked stunning in her pale pink maxi dress; 2) The colors in the sky were hinting at what would become a fierce sunset; and 3) I knew we’d have fun because James and Piper are an awesome couple and they also brought two special props for the session with the cutest backstories.
Freeman Family
For my first time photographing the Freeman family, I was able to meet them on a bright Sunday morning in the little oasis of Gruene in New Braunfels, Texas. This location will always be one of my favorites because there are so many little nooks and crannies that you can find (away from the stores, restaurants and crowds) that also offer great color and textures. Scroll down to see a sampling from our session. I absolutely adore what we captured! There were a lot of silly smiles, walking around and playing–just the way I like my family sessions to go. This relaxed approach also works wonders with little ones, but you must find a few spots with nice open shade and plenty of room to run!
Lindsey Maternity
First, let me say, how stunning does Lindsey look??! I met the Jonas family out at the Cypress Bend Park in New Braunfels, Texas, one sunny morning to capture some family photos, maternity photos and pictures of the adorable Mr. Hayden. Previously, I had only shot out there for evening sessions, but I must say, that I loved it there so much more in the morning! Even though we were in the dead of the summer, there was a nice breeze, we had some great light and it wasn’t crowded at all. I highly recommend it for portrait sessions. Juliann Maternity
Juliann looked absolutely stunning in all of her maternity pictures. Spring sunset sessions can be so unpredictable. For weeks, we were looking for the perfect location with wildflowers; however, they just weren’t blooming enough when it was time for her session. I wasn’t sure if the weather would cooperate for us when we decided to take the photos at a secluded spot at the back of our property–but, it turned out to be a truly picturesque day. We had an absolutely immaculate sunset and no wind!
Juliann & Kenny’s Surprise
This was a lot of fun. Juliann contacted me a while back to schedule a family photo session as a present to her mom. As we got closer to the date, she also found out that she was expecting! As a way to capture some of the excitement and love this family shares, we devised a plan for Kenny and Juliann to announce the pregnancy towards the end of the evening.
Jill Maternity
I was able to take Jill’s maternity pictures out near our property while she was in town for her baby shower. At eight months pregnant, she is still so tiny! My bump was definitely not that cute in my third trimester [ insert jealous face! 😉 ] She did wonderful and we were even able…
Lauren Maternity
We met at the always amazing Pearl in San Antonio for Lauren’s maternity session. With so many textures and variety, it never disappoints (I know I’ve said it before, but it is seriously so true!). Lauren was stunning in her coral sundress with less than a month to go before baby Eric arrives. And, how stinking cute are those Batman booties!?!
April Maternity
How insanely glowing is this pretty lady! Not only did I get to take April’s maternity photos this weekend, but I was able to catch up with my BFF from college. It’s hard to believe that we’ve known each other for 17 years! For her photos, we choose a more secluded spot in Gruene, TX…
Samantha Maternity
I loved taking Samantha’s maternity and family pictures out at our property. We were able to drive out to the back section last Friday evening and although it was a cloudy day, we even had a few breaks where the sun decided to pop out for us. Mr. Hollstin was also a doll. He didn’t want to stand still for too long but we captured some sweet images thanks to a lot of space to run around and a few gummy treats as rewards.
2016 Year at a Glance
Wow! As a busy mom and wife it’s hard to imagine how it was possible to have had so many great sessions this past year. As many of you know, photography isn’t my full time gig, but it is my love, passion and all consuming hobby. In 2016, I was very fortunate to have a broad spectrum of clients and occasions. From newborns, maternity, extended families, high school seniors, engagements/weddings, prom and more, I met so many awesome people and started getting more repeat clients coming back to me for the second and third year in a row. I feel really blessed to be able to have this outlet for my creativity and that so many have trusted me to capture these special moments.
Michelle Maternity
I had the pleasure of working with Michelle and Gary a few weeks ago and then again this week for a few epic sunset shots. I love how their silhouettes turned out! I’m thrilled for this sweet couple as they only have a few weeks left until they meet their baby boy, Dawson.
Shyenne Maternity
Due to busy schedules, we weren’t able to get Shyenne’s maternity session scheduled until she was well into her third trimester. Then we had several days of rain. A LOT OF RAIN.
Michalak Maternity
I loved meeting Janna and her family (soon to be plus one!). I always say this, but I truly get the best people scheduling photo sessions with me. For this one, I met her out at the Landa Branch Library near Trinity University.
