Lifestyle photography at a family’s home is simply the best! I love this approach so much more than the typical studio newborn session because it gives you a glimpse into those first few months as a family together. It was really hard to pick my favorites from this one. Not only because I’m biased (James and Piper are wonderful friends of ours), but also because Miss Evelyn is so stinking adorable! I love how their fur babies also decided to join in a bit. Scroll down below to see a sampling of what we captured!
This lifestyle newborn session was perfect! I’m so grateful that I have wonderful families who welcome me into their homes to document such special milestones. Time is such a precious thing and it passes so quickly. Lifestyle sessions are a great way to look back and see how the nursery was decorated or to remember a special memory at your home. Scroll down below to see a sampling from my time with baby Parker and family. Big brother Easton did amazing as well. His little smile just melts my heart 🙂
Always be yourself. Unless you can be Batman. Then be BATMAN! This lifestyle newborn shoot was great. I love being welcomed into family’s homes to take photos to documenting the birth of a child. Mr. Eric was born on May 9 at 7:19 p.m. He weighed 9 pounds 14 oz and was 21.5 inches long. His nursery was set up to welcome a little super hero in training with unique touches that included custom made blankets and pillows designed by his grandma and hand drawn letters carefully sketched by his dad!
This newborn session was great! I had the opportunity to meet both of Jackson’s grandmas and we were able to get some beautiful images with mom, dad and big sister. Jackson did wonderful. We had him in so many different shots and poses with the family and were still able to capture some individually of him sleeping. Those of you who have been part of a newborn session know that is no small feat!
I love when I’m invited into a home to capture newborn photos with a more lifestyle flair to them. For Penny’s session, it was super relaxed and I even had a great helper with her big brother, Hollstin. We had some amazing bright and airy light and Penny was simply precious. She fought her sleep a bit but that gave us the opportunity to see her pretty blue eyes.
I was able to photograph the precious 10 day old Christopher James (CJ) in route to a work trip this January. He was very sleepy at the start but quickly decided to wake up when we rudely stripped him down for pictures. After we had him settled in some comfy blankets, we even got some…
We had to postpone Levi’s newborn photos a week or so due to the holidays and a little rash he had on his face — but the wait was worth it! Just as handsome as his big brother, Levi did amazing and we were able to get shots with his beautiful eyes and as well as the sleepy ones by himself and with the family. I divided this post up with his images in color and black and white because we had a great collection of them both.
Born right before Thanksgiving, miss Landyn was absolutely perfect during her newborn session. We were able to get a few shots with a fall theme, with big sister Rease, some Christmas images and even some sweet pictures with her laying on a blanket made by her grandmother. I love the ones with the hats and headbands, but I’m also in love with the ones showcasing her beautiful hair 🙂
My experience photographing identical twin girls, Madysen and Sydney, was amazing! These precious baby girls were actually three months old when we took their photos so I wasn’t sure if we’d get any of those sleepy shots. When they were born, the girls weighed a little over three pounds so it took a little while before we could manage something like a newborn session. They did so great!
Dawson was such a sweetie during his newborn session. We even captured a few sleepy smiles. And, how adorable are his little hats? They were all handmade by his grandma!
