I was so excited when Caitlin told me she’d like to take her bridal portraits at the Polley Mansion near Sutherland Springs, Texas. This historical gem dating back to 1847 is actually located just miles from where I live. With the original 18″ stone walls still intact, every room in the two story house has a story to tell. And don’t get me started on the beautiful textures! It’s the perfect backdrop for portraits and to say I’m in love with this spot is an understatement. Moreover, I’m so thankful for the recent renovations and attention to detail the Muschalek family have implemented to restore the property and save it for future generations.
For this session, Caitlin and her mom made the long journey out from the Boerne area to meet me at the house. We were a little short on daylight that evening but it was a bright and clear night and we were able to capture a lot of the beauty the grounds had to offer —both inside and out. We even found a perfect little patch of cactus matching her wedding theme to end the session right at sunset! Caitlin couldn’t have looked more stunning. Her southwestern jewelry paired with her lacy off the shoulder dress and gorgeous florals melded wonderfully with the vintage vibe. Scroll down to see a sampling from our session. There was so much it share from this one, it was hard to pick which ones to post.
