Okay, I’m not going to lie. When Chelsea asked me if I’d be willing to travel to Enchanted Rock for her engagement photos, I was a little excited. Fredericksburg is quickly becoming one of my families’ favorite places to get away to for a nice relaxing weekend. Thus, we absolutely took advantage of me having to ‘work’ that evening and brought the camper for a few nights. As an added bonus, we even did a little sight seeing downtown later that night to see all of the Christmas decorations!

With the Enchanted Rock State Natural Area less than a 30 minute drive from Fredericksburg, it’s not only an amazing place for hiking but it’s probably one of the most fun (albeit challenging) places to take photos. If you are up for a little bit of a climb and it’s a nice evening, the sunset from atop the rock is well worth making it up the half mile incline! The colors illuminating the evening sky just before sunset were simply breathtaking.

It was pretty hard to narrow down our favorites from this one but you can scroll down below to see a sampling of what we captured. I loved both their outfit choices, but Chelsea’s red dress and Keaton’s grey jacket were perfect for the top of the rock. That was my favorite for sure!
