Classen Family

Sometimes you have a family that you just connect with instantly. I knew right away after meeting the extended Classen family at their families’ ranch in New Braunfels that their group would be a blast to work with. Big group family sessions are often hectic because when you get that many people together (especially with young kids), it’s hard to maintain focus and still get natural looking smiles. This was not the case with the Classens! I truly had a great time working with the whole family. We walked around on their beautiful property and were even blessed with a few moments of sun after a mostly overcast and rainy day. Scroll down to see a sampling of the images we captured.

Spradlin Family

Thanks to my regular trips up to East Texas, I’ve had the pleasure of photographing the Spradlin girls for several years. It shouldn’t be such a surprise to me to see how much they’ve grown because they are nearly exactly the same age as my two kiddos! But nonetheless, it still surprises me to see the kids I’ve photographed change and grow over the years.  This time was a little different because we actually had the whole family together! Always fun to work with, I had a great time walking around with the four of them and finding spots with pretty light around Synergy Park in Kilgore, Texas. Granted, the girls were freezing, but we made it work and it really was a lot of fun. Scroll down to see more.

Cooper Turns One

I challenge you to find something more adorable than this little man in blue overalls with eyes to match! Cooper’s one year session was so great. He did wonderful with several different outfit changes–including the A&M jersey and football. Seriously, he’s too cute for words! Scroll down to see more.

2017 Year at a Glance

I can’t begin to express the gratitude I feel for having the ability to photograph amazing families, couples and individuals near my hometown. This was a busy year! From lifestyle newborn sessions to high school and college seniors, maternity sessions, anniversaries, weddings and beyond, I was able to work with hundreds of individuals across all ages.

Jackson 6 Months

My goodness…I can’t handle how cute Jackson was for his six month photo session last weekend. We met at the always beautiful San Antonio Botanical Garden and I really think this age range is becoming one of my favorites! At this age, babies can usually hold themselves up or even sit. They are also much more attentive and smiley–creating endless possibilities to capture their developing personalities. Jackson was a rockstar! Not only were his little outfits completely adorable, but he also did great and connecting with me and giving direct eye contact to the camera. Scroll down to see a sampling from our session.

Latham Family

Warning: these photos are dripping with cuteness and sunshine! It was pretty hard to pick out just a few favorites from the Latham’s family session.  We had such a great time walking around being silly while the kids played — and it resulted in some precious little moments.  Take a look by scrolling down to see a sample of what we captured.

Hollstin is 3!

In this sunny ‘All About Me’ session to celebrate Hollstin’s third birthday, we sweated our booties off but we captured some amazing shots that highlighted his interests and personality. Who needs props when you can bring out their favorite toys?! It makes the session so much more personal and gives you a great way to look back and remember their favorite things as they get older. We had a great time just letting him play — and really, who doesn’t love Tonka trucks and dinosaurs!

The Schmidt Kids!

I had some fun taking pictures of my nieces and nephew before a pool party we had this weekend to celebrate Jathan’s (aka Bubby) birthday. They are growing up so fast. I can’t believe how grown up each of them look in these pictures! I’m so thankful that I’m here to see it. Five years…

Landyn 6 Months

Time flies! I can’t believe it has been six months since we took Landyn’s newborn photos. She has grown and changed so much. For this session we used a nice green field, some yummy watermelon and a strip of burlap. Simple, yet oh so adorable. Big sister Rease was also there to hold Landyn and…

Kubena Family

This family session was given as a gift last Christmas (yes, I offer gift certificates!) and we were able to get everyone together this spring for pictures. It’s so important to continue to take family pictures even after the kids have grown and start leaving the house. It had been a while since the Kubena family had taken any family shots together so I was honored to be able to do that for them. This was a super relaxed session and I’m loving the final results. Such a sweet family!

Eric Newborn

Always be yourself. Unless you can be Batman. Then be BATMAN! This lifestyle newborn shoot was great. I love being welcomed into family’s homes to take photos to documenting the birth of a child. Mr. Eric was born on May 9 at 7:19 p.m. He weighed 9 pounds 14 oz and was 21.5 inches long. His nursery was set up to welcome a little super hero in training with unique touches that included custom made blankets and pillows designed by his grandma and hand drawn letters carefully sketched by his dad!

Jill Maternity

I was able to take Jill’s maternity pictures out near our property while she was in town for her baby shower. At eight months pregnant, she is still so tiny! My bump was definitely not that cute in my third trimester [ insert jealous face! 😉 ] She did wonderful and we were even able…

Lauren Maternity

We met at the always amazing Pearl in San Antonio for Lauren’s maternity session. With so many textures and variety, it never disappoints (I know I’ve said it before, but it is seriously so true!). Lauren was stunning in her coral sundress with less than a month to go before baby Eric arrives. And, how stinking cute are those Batman booties!?!

Maker

To say this little guy is adorable is an understatement! Maker and his parents traveled down from South Austin last weekend for a quick morning session at one of my favorite spots in Seguin. We quickly got some insanely precious shots of him in his suit and then did a wardrobe change into his second outfit to celebrate his first birthday. For his first professional photo session, he did wonderfully and was a breeze to work with. I even got some smiles and direct eye contact which is no easy undertaking with toddlers!

Lane is 1!

When it comes to an ideal backdrop, it’s hard to beat a beautiful Texas sunset. In this session, we were able to capture some great images of Mr. Lane to commemorate his first birthday. He is too cute for words. Take a look!

Jackson Newborn

This newborn session was great! I had the opportunity to meet both of Jackson’s grandmas and we were able to get some beautiful images with mom, dad and big sister. Jackson did wonderful. We had him in so many different shots and poses with the family and were still able to capture some individually of him sleeping. Those of you who have been part of a newborn session know that is no small feat!

Penelope Newborn

I love when I’m invited into a home to capture newborn photos with a more lifestyle flair to them. For Penny’s session, it was super relaxed and I even had a great helper with her big brother, Hollstin. We had some amazing bright and airy light and Penny was simply precious. She fought her sleep a bit but that gave us the opportunity to see her pretty blue eyes.

Rease is 3!

I’ve had the pleasure of photographing Miss Rease four times including some family pictures, for her second birthday and recently when her little sister was born. And now, we captured some amazing shots for her third birthday. I love her spirit! Some may not like photographing younger children who move around a lot, but I think we absolutely captured her essence by letting her run around in the flowers and going out to a country road at sunset.

Tobias & Family

I love living out in the country! You will see quite a few posts from either our property or near my parent’s house next door because I rarely get tired of it — especially during this time of year with all of the wildflowers. For this session, we kept things simple and used the newly fresh grass and flowers to compliment the denim and the bright blue shirt of the precious Mr. Tobias.

Lilia’s Tea Party

I can’t get enough of these images! I met Miss Lilia and her mom out at a park this week to take a few Spring pictures. The only caveat was that it didn’t feel like Spring at all! Although the flowers were blooming, it was a very chilly morning and we had to fake an afternoon tea party in the sun. Lilia’s personality is so sweet and she even gave me a proper lesson on how to hold a tea cup — pinky out of course!
